AVID is a daily elective class, which earns you 5 credits per semester. AVID is a four-year program that prepares students with academic potential for success in college.
The mission of AVID is to ensure that all students, especially students in the middle capable of completing a college preparatory path:
- will succeed in the most rigorous curriculum,
- will enter mainstream activities of the school,
- will increase their enrollment in four year colleges, and
- will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
- Enroll in a college-prep curriculum; meeting requirements for entrance into a 4-year college, including attending Summer School to advance and/or taking AP classes.
- Maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA and attend daily
