The reservation calendar is located at the circulation desk in the library. You may phone (x3312), e-mail (alaine on GroupWise), or come to the library to reserve library time. You will receive a "Seating Chart for Library Computers", which must be completed before your and your class arrive in the library. Classes will not be seated without a completed seating chart. Space is available on first come, first serve basis, and the calendar is ready for sign-ups through the end of the school year.

We are here to help. Let us know how we can assist you and your students in the library. We can pull books for research projects, help identify good websites, teach students how to use library resources like the online library catalog, reference books, online resources, etc. We can also purchase materials based on your needs and recommendations.

The library can accommodate 1-2 classes at one time, depending upon the size of the classes. The library has 20 student computer stations, one computer used exclusively for word processing, and one teaching station. The teaching station is equipped with a software program that allows the librarian to demonstrate web sites, computer application, the online library catalog, etc. on the 20 student computers.

The library subscribes to three online encyclopedias: Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia and Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre en Linea. These encyclopedias are available from all library and school computers.

The library has approximately 15,000 books, including many new books purchased to support teacher assignments. We subscribe to 20 periodicals and 2 newspapers, including the Mateo County Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle. Other resources include 170 videos, and the following CD-ROMs, which can be accessed using the shortcuts on the desktop of each library computer: Our Times, Scribner Writers, and CultureGrams.

Please help keep your departments' textbook collection intact by:

• Encouraging students to write their name in their books, and to cover their textbooks

• Having students who drop your class return their textbooks immediately to the textbook room

• Requesting a class list with student names and book numbers so that you can collect all textbooks borrowed by your students

• Collecting textbooks you will no longer be using, and immediately sending them to the textbook room

• Reminding students to bring their ID cards when checking out textbooks
