A Typical Freshmen Schedule
Students must be enrolled in six classes (1st through 6th period or 2nd through 7th period). Seven classes are allowed when a student is taking music, sports or AVID.

Classes begin at 8:00am (1st period) or 8:53am (2nd period) and are dismissed at 2:19pm (6th period) or 3:15pm (7th period).

Students are mandated to take the follwoing courses based on 8th grade teacher recomendation: 

  • English I or Advanced Standing English (AS English I)
  • World Studies I or Advanced Standing World Studies I (AS W. Studies I)
  • Math: Algebra or Geometry (Dependant upon math level completed in 8th grade)
  • PE Core

 Highly recommended:

  • Science: Advanced Integrated Science (AIS) or Biology
  • Elective of Choice: Foreign Language (Spanish, French, Mandarin or Latin), Performing Arts (Instrumental Music, Choral Music, Drama or Dance), Fine Arts (Drawing & Painting, Ceramics or 3D Design), Computer Applications, or Computer Science (with Algebra I completed).
*** Important Note: On Wednesdays, classes begin at 8:53am (1st period) or 9:42am (2nd period). Dismissal times are 2:24PM (6th period) or 3:15pm (7th period).
