Our teaching staff is an exciting blend of veteran educators and relatively new teachers. Experienced teachers offer a mentor program for all new teachers. This partnership has been a great way to balance proven teaching methods with fresh teaching theories and practice.

In addition to a Bachelor's Degree, over half of Carlmont's teachers have earned graduate degrees. Carlmont's teachers exemplify lifelong learning by taking continuous education and graduate-level classes as well as by taking advantage of opportunities available through teacher associations. They also supplement their education with study trips, including foreign travel for advanced study in subjects such as language, film, and literature.

Over 90% of our teachers spend lunchtime in their classrooms to offer one-on-one tutoring and often are available before and after school. All teachers have voice mail/e-mail and can be reachers through our innovative teacher, student and communication portal "Communicado"

Administrative Leadership:

According to the 2000 regional Accreditation Team Evaluation, "The leadership of the Principal and the decisive nature of her actions has rejuvenated a certain spirit, integrity and camaraderie at Carlmont." Andrea Jenoff brings to Carlmont 12 years of high school administrative experience, and 14 years of teaching experience. She holds four Master's Degrees: English, Art, Secondary Education and Administrative Education. In 2005, Ms. Jenoff was selected as a San Mateo County Women's Hall of Fame Honoree for the innovative programs she has developed and implemented at Carlmont. Carlmont High School is fortunate to have the same Principal, two Administrative Vice Principals, and Instructional Vice Principal in place for the past four years.
