IMPORTANT INFO

Administration has notified all teachers that temporary ID's will not be issued after 2nd period.  Please make sure you have your ID and lanyard (around the neck).  Do not come to the office for a temporary ID after 2nd period. – Gordon

PERFORMING ARTS

Please pick up an information sheet from Ms. Secrist if you're interested in auditioning for Intermediate or Advanced Dance for the 2008-09 school year.  The completed sheet needs to be returned no later than 7* Wednesday May 22nd 2008.  Auditions for incoming freshman will be held Thursday May 22nd from 4pm-7pm and for current students, Friday May 23rd from 4pm - 7pm in the dance studio. – Secrist

CLUBS AND PROGRAMS

The math student of the month pictures will be taken in room E-11 at the beginning of lunch. - Tsuchiyama

One Giants ticket = $22.  Garlic Fries and a soda = $10.  Spending a Friday Night with Mr. Raffa - PRICELESS!!  Buy tickets TODAY for TOMORROW'S GIANT'S GAME vs. the Phillies.  Tickets are $22 and are available in the Guidance Office from Ms. DePaoli or room D21 from Ms. McKee. – McKee

Watch out Carlmont, there’s a new dance team! Tryouts for the dance team HYPE! What kind of dance? Hip hop! Tryouts are May 14th and the 15th from 3:30 to 5:00 in the dance studio! Come show off your skills and bring the hype! – Sagi

CLASS INFO

Senior Service Seals.  If you want a Gold, Silver, or Bronze seal on your diploma, you need to turn in your Service Seal form to Mr. Kelly by next Friday, May 9.  If you have lost the form from your Social Studies class, you can download one from the Carlmont Website.  - Kelly

Senior Picnic.  Are you going to the Senior Picnic?  Water slides...a lake....grass area...beach....  If you want to go, you need to turn in your permission slip (from Social Studies class or online) with $15.00 to Mr. Kelly by May 14. - Kelly

Senior Takeover Day.  If you want to take over a teacher or staff member's job for a day, May 21, talk to that person.  If they agree, tell them to email Mr. Kelly - Kelly

Seniors and Parents of Seniors.  Check the Carlmont website for all information on Senior Activities for the rest of the year including Graduation information, Senior Picnic, Baccalaureate, Service Seal Points, Senior Takeover Day, and Senior Finals.  It's all there!  Go to carlmont.seq.org for everything you need to know about Senior Activities. - Kelly

AVID Print E-mail

AVID is a daily elective class, which earns you 5 credits per semester. AVID is a four-year program that prepares students with academic potential for success in college.

The mission of AVID is to ensure that all students, especially students in the middle capable of completing a college preparatory path:

  • will succeed in the most rigorous curriculum,
  • will enter mainstream activities of the school,
  • will increase their enrollment in four year colleges, and
  • will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
  • Enroll in a college-prep curriculum; meeting requirements for entrance into a 4-year college, including attending Summer School to advance and/or taking AP classes.
  • Maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA and attend daily
