IMPORTANT INFO

 

Students, please be aware that this Wed., Nov. 25th will be a minimum day. School will start at 8 a.m. and end at 12 noon. This Thursday & Friday there will be NO school because of the Thanksgiving Holiday. – Bailey

 

If you don’t have an ID..get one before class! Come to the Admin office to get a temporary ID before school starts. You MUST have an ID while on campus. If you do not have one, you will be assigned detention. - Gordon

 

CLUBS AND PROGRAMS

 

It's getting cold outside! Come to the library and warm up. Read about winter while enjoying the heat. -  Schadler

 

Middle College High School applications for spring are due today, November 23rd. Please get your application to the middle college office at Cañada.

 

The canned food drive is still going! It is not too late to donate canned goods to your 4th period class or bins around campus! Make a difference! – Kelly

 

Don’t forget about the “No Woman Left Behind” event this Tuesday, the 24th from 7 -9 p.m. This is a free event and will be in the Carlmont Performing arts center. Come and be inspired! - Bustamante

 

CLASS INFO

 

Seniors!!!  Do you need a letter of recommendation from your guidance counselor for either a private college or a scholarship?  If so, the deadline to turn in your request for letter of recommendation packet is December 1st.  Once again, December 1st is the deadline for any type of letter of recommendation.  If you need a new packet, please see Mrs. Dominguez in the College Center. – Dominguez

 

Seniors, Class of 2010.  Get your Grad Night Tickets NOW!  They are on sale and forms are available in the office if you did not get one at arena registration.  Tickets are on sale now for $75.00 but the prices will go up soon.  You don't want to miss a fantastic night of fun, memories and final moments.  Get your tickets now.

IMPORTANT INFO

 

Halloween is around the corner and that means...costumes! If you are going to be in costume on Friday, October 30th at Carlmont High School, your costume MUST be appropriate. This means that if your costume is not suitable for school, you will be sent home. If you are unsure about what you are going to wear, please ask a vice principal and they can help. Show pride in yourself and in your school for Halloween! – Zamora

 

Students, remember that you need to wear your ID on campus at all times. They need to be visible at all times. Wear your ID! - Gordon

 

CLASS INFO

 

Seniors, are you graduating?  Pay attention to the following if you're a senior planning to graduate:

All Caps, Gowns, and Tassels can now be  purchased from the School Treasurer or from a representative in the ASB room. Checks for Caps, Gowns, Tassels are payable to "Carlmont High School” The current price is $30.00 for Caps, Gowns, and Tassels.  Prices go up in January.

All other Graduation items (announcements, etc.) are purchased from Herff Jones.  The Herff Jones rep will be on campus at lunch on November 4 and 5.  He will be back one more time in December.  All Graduation announcements need to be ordered by the end of the semester. – Kelly

 

CLUBS AND PROGRAMS

 

If you live in East Palo Alto and want to become a student leader in your community, drop by the College & Career Center today (Tuesday) at lunch for a meeting with the East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Commission. Snacks are provided.

 

There is an Interact meeting this Wednesday October 28 in room D-15.  We'll discuss our upcoming events, including the blood drive, Halloween, district conference, and Rotary luncheon.  See you there!! – Perna

 

All Creative reWriters and students interested in checking out the reWriters club, plan on attending Thursday's lunchtime meeting in A-16. We will hear what Lara Sichi thought of our last editing session of her poem, "What I Did During My Summer Vacation," and we'll move on to editing Matt Ray's poem, "Sol." Soon, we will hear and edit the original poetry of Rafael Ojeda and Amanda Governale. Wallace

 

Come celebrate the Day of the Dead in the library. Check out ceramic "calaveras" from fellow students. -  Schadler

 

Attention CSF members:  there will be a meeting today at lunch in room E-15. – Callan

 

If you like CHESS, QUIZ GAMES, or want to help captain FOMF, the Friends of Millard Fillmore Trivia Hunt, there will be meetings this week at lunch in D-27.  The Chess club meets on Wed - come play!  FOMF meets on Thursday, and the Quiz Team meets on Friday. Pick your interest and come on over! - Braunstein

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Work Experience Education students meet with Ms. Boland in room D25 this Thursday at lunch. - Boland

 

 

SPORTS

 

Softball sign-ups will be held in E-15 at Lunch on Thursday.  Don't be late. -   Liggett

 

TRYING OUT FOR A WINTER SPORT

Clearance packets for winter sports are available and can be turned in to Mrs. Eggli in the main office.  They will be accepted until November 2.  Tryouts for winter sports begin November 2.  You need to be cleared in order to tryout.  - Smith

 

COLLEGE AND CAREER

 

Attention Students: Don't forget about the College Fair, tomorrow night, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at Canada College gym. There will be hundreds of college representatives there and workshops for you and your parents to attend. It's free. If you need a bus pass, see Mrs. Dominguez in the College and Career Center. - Dominguez

 

William Jessup University, a private Christian university located in Northern CA, will be in the College Center during 2nd period tomorrow. Pitzer College will here during 6th period tomorrow. - Dominguez

 

PERFORMING ARTS


 Tickets are now on sale for Carlmont High School's production of The Diary of Anne Frank to be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday November 12 - 14 at 7pm and November 15th at 2pm in the beautiful, new Carlmont High School Performing Arts Center.  The admission price is $8 for students and seniors and $10 for adults.  Purchase them at

Text Messaging Alert System

The Belmont Safe Schools Text Messaging Alert System, allows students, parents, relatives & school staff to receive important messages from their school or from Belmont PD, over their mobile devices (cell phone, smart phone, PDA, etc...). The system can be used to advise of school closures, traffic issues, and incidents on or near campus, etc... Because it is a text message, which goes to a mobile device, subscribers can receive the message if they are in class, the library, their dorm/apt or off campus. Subscribers sign up at their school's website and are in the system until they remove themselves, so for example, an incoming student and their family only have to sign up once during their years as a student at that school. Subscribers can remove themselves at any time. This system received initial funding from the City of Belmont as part of its Disaster Preparedness efforts and is maintained through the Belmont Safe Schools Program.
