The Carlmont PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) works to bring the home and the school into a closer relationship, and to coordinate the educational efforts of the parents, teachers, and students. The PTSA cooperative activities include: working in the offices of the vice principals, guidance advisors, and school nurse, aiding the reduced Library staff; improving teacher morale by directly aiding teachers; coordinating production of the Calendar/Handbook; production and mailing of the Bagpiper newsletter, and sponsorship of some awards and general school needs no longer supported by the Sequoia Union High School District.

Regular PTSA meetings are held in the Carlmont Staff Lounge at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. (unless otherwise noted.) Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity at Carlmont and can spare
two hours of your time, once a month, then the Student Store is the
place for you!  Located on campus on the lower level of the Quad, the

newsletter (The Bagpiper) as well as student body activities such as
assemblies, field trips, and dances, so your help is important.

The Store is open Monday through Friday, and there are two shifts each day.

Text Messaging Alert System

The Belmont Safe Schools Text Messaging Alert System, allows students, parents, relatives & school staff to receive important messages from their school or from Belmont PD, over their mobile devices (cell phone, smart phone, PDA, etc...). The system can be used to advise of school closures, traffic issues, and incidents on or near campus, etc... Because it is a text message, which goes to a mobile device, subscribers can receive the message if they are in class, the library, their dorm/apt or off campus. Subscribers sign up at their school's website and are in the system until they remove themselves, so for example, an incoming student and their family only have to sign up once during their years as a student at that school. Subscribers can remove themselves at any time. This system received initial funding from the City of Belmont as part of its Disaster Preparedness efforts and is maintained through the Belmont Safe Schools Program.
