All October Math students of the Month winners:   Come to room E-16 at the very beginning of lunch to get your picture taken.  Congratulations! - Mills

 

The canned food drive is going on now! If you want to help your fellow students, staff and others in our local community, donate canned food! The first canned food collection will be on Nov 16th. You can leave your donations in your 4th period class or the designated bins around campus.  – Kelly

 

All Creative reWriters and students interested in checking out the reWriters club, plan on attending Thursday's lunchtime meeting in A-16. We will hear what Rafael Ojeda thought of our last editing session of his poems,

and we'll move on to editing Amanda Governale's original work. Soon, we will hear and edit poetry written by Griffin Coe. -  Wallace

 

Attention all Medical/Science Magnet Program students who are attending the field trip to Sequoia Hospital on November 18th.  Your permission slips are due; they are actually overdue, so please turn them in immediately to Mrs. Simpson in Room D-4.  Turn those permission slips in now.  -  Simpson

 

No one likes to think about sexual violence, but it is real, and happening to young women everyday.  On Tuesday, November 24th, Carlmont S.O.S. will present   "No Woman Left Behind" from: 7pm until 9pm in the Carlmont Performing Arts Center.  Most teachers will be giving extra credit for student attendance.  Come hear personal stories and be part of the effort to end this growing trend. – Bustamante

 

CLASS INFO

 

Seniors!!!  Do you need a letter of recommendation from your guidance counselor for either a private college or a scholarship?  If so, the deadline to turn in your request for letter of recommendation packet is December 1st.  Once again, December 1st is the deadline for any type of letter of recommendation.  If you need a new packet, please see Mrs. Dominguez in the College Center. – DePaoli

 

Attention 10th Grade Students:  This week you will be receiving study guides for the March 2010 CAHSEE in your regular English and math classes.  These guides are intended for you to use at home to prepare for this important test.  You must pass both the English and the math portions of CAHSEE in order to receive a high school diploma. – Bailey

 

Seniors, Class of 2010.  Get your Grad Night Tickets NOW!  They are on sale and forms are available in the office if you did not get one at arena registration.  Tickets are on sale now for $75.00 but the prices will go up soon.  You don't want to miss a fantastic night of fun, memories and final moments.  Get your tickets now.

 

PERFORMING ARTS

 

The Carlmont High School production of The Diary of Anne Frank is THIS WEEK!  Don't miss out! This tender, inspiring drama will be at the Carlmont Performing Arts Center on this Thursday through Saturday, November 12 - 14 at 7pm and Sunday, November 15 at 2pm.  The Diary of Anne Frank will transport you back to the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.  Join Anne Frank's family and friends while they battle fear, experience love and maintain their hope in mankind as they hide for two years from Nazi soldiers. This play is an insightful look into the innocent mind of a teenage holocaust victim.  Purchase tickets at the door or online

Fall Play Diary of Anne Frank Print E-mail

Tickets are now on sale for Carlmont High School's production of The Diary of Anne Frank in the beautiful, new Carlmont High School Performing Arts Center.

Dates: Thursday, Friday and Saturday November 12 - 14 at 7pm, and Sunday November 15th and 2 PM.

The admission price is $8 for students and seniors and $10 for adults.

Fall Sports Clearance Packets are Available Now! Print E-mail
Fall sports clearance packets are now available.  The office will be open until June 30 from 7:45 to 3:30.  Closed for lunch from 12-1:30.  We will return to work on August 3rd, which will be the first day to turn in packets.  The first day of fall sports is August 14, in order to be cleared by this day your clearance packet should be in 3 days prior to August 14.  The cut-off date for participating in a fall sport is Wednesday, September 2,  2009!!!
 
Spring Concerts Print E-mail
The Carlmont Instrumental Music program will present two Spring Concerts at the Carlmont Performing Arts Center. On Tuesday, May 19th, the Intermediate Orchestra, Concert Band, and Jazz Ensemble will perform. On Wednesday, May 20th, the Advanced Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble will perform. Each program will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.carlmontmusic.com or the evening of the concert. Box Office will open each night at 6:00 p.m. and only cash or check will be accepted at the box office. Tickets prices are: Adult $10, Student (H.S.) and Senior $8, and Child (Middle school & younger) $2. Come enjoy great music in Carlmont's new Performing Arts Center.

Text Messaging Alert System

The Belmont Safe Schools Text Messaging Alert System, allows students, parents, relatives & school staff to receive important messages from their school or from Belmont PD, over their mobile devices (cell phone, smart phone, PDA, etc...). The system can be used to advise of school closures, traffic issues, and incidents on or near campus, etc... Because it is a text message, which goes to a mobile device, subscribers can receive the message if they are in class, the library, their dorm/apt or off campus. Subscribers sign up at their school's website and are in the system until they remove themselves, so for example, an incoming student and their family only have to sign up once during their years as a student at that school. Subscribers can remove themselves at any time. This system received initial funding from the City of Belmont as part of its Disaster Preparedness efforts and is maintained through the Belmont Safe Schools Program.
